  • Office apps to install on up to 5 devices per user, including the remote desktop server using the Shared Computer Activation feature of this plan. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher++, and Access++

Further Information

    • To run Microsoft 365 Office applications on a remote desktop server requires a feature called Shared Computer Activation which is only included in the Microsoft 365 plans for Enterprise. Unfortunately, Microsoft have not enabled this feature in the Standard plans.   The Microsoft 365 plans that can be used on a remote desktop service are:
      • Microsoft 365 Business Premium
      • Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise
      • Office 365 E3 or E5
      • Non-Profit equivalents of the above

 

    • ++Although the Microsoft 365 licence allows you to install applications on 5 devices such as your PC, the remote desktop, and a version for your phone, some applications like Publisher and Access will only work when installed on Windows – you can’t install them on an Apple Mac for example. However, by using the remote desktop you can connect to this from your Mac and other devices in order to use these applications.

 

    • This special package covers 2 applications, Microsoft Office plus one other for example Sage Accounts
    • Additional applications can be included, or you could just run with Microsoft Office only – speak to our sales team to discuss the best pricing options

 

    • +Some applications may need additional services, for example they may require a SQL Server database (which has a licence costs) or they use SQL Server Express.  You may also need additional storage beyond what’s included in the package.   We are totally flexible and will work with you to bespoke architect the optimum solution for your business.   Please speak to our sales team who can discuss the best options for you and to confirm any additional costs.

 

    • There are no contracts for the remote desktop platform, but there is a 12 month commitment for Microsoft 365

 

    • Your remote desktop platform is fully supported by our helpdesk team as part of the service. Microsoft 365 is a 3rd party product so administration and technical support is NOT included.   Many customers administer and support Microsoft 365 themselves, supplemented by Microsoft support.   However, on occasion customers may need a helping hand with managing Microsoft 365 so we would be happy to provide support on a best endeavours, ad-hoc basis.  Please speak to sales for pricing for this.

 

    • *All packages have a one-off setup fee of £125.00 as they are bespoke built.   Customers planning to run Microsoft Teams on the remote desktop may need to budget for additional memory (RAM) depending on how Teams is used.   It is advised that running video conferences using Teams is better done using the local device rather than the remote desktop to improve video performance.

 

    • The setup fee includes moving any data and applications to our remote desktop platform, installing the applications you need to run, and creating your user accounts. Excluded from this is moving data, emails etc. to Microsoft 365.

 

  • Our technical team can also assist with “projects” relating to Microsoft 365, for example moving all your email from a previous provider to Microsoft’s Exchange Online, or moving documents to SharePoint. Every project is different so please speak to our sales team to discuss prices for this.
